Act V: The Apology Tour
But behind the scenes, I have zero credit left in the bank. I am currently walking on eggshells around the training ground. I have initiated the “Extra Nice” Protocol:
- Did you get a 6.8 rating in training? Phenomenal work, son. * Did you successfully pass the ball five yards? World-class vision. * Did you tie your shoelaces without assistance? Leadership material.
I will praise their training, praise their conduct, and smile politely until the morale climbs back to ‘Excellent.’ Because with Omorodion, Guðmundsson, Fagioli, and Doak all currently residing in the medical VIP lounge, I cannot afford another mutiny.
Act VI: The “Extra Nice” Protocol Pays Off (or, The Mutiny Quelled)
(The tape recorder clicks on. The manager lets out a long, exaggerated exhale of pure relief, slumping back into the leather office chair.)
Well, it appears the sheer, unadulterated power of a 3-0 victory against your bitter rival is the ultimate cure for a dressing room mutiny.
I have just received the latest Dynamics report from Francesco Conti, and I can officially cancel the state of emergency. My “Extra Nice” protocol—combined with that glorious Roman Conquest—has worked a miracle.
- The Atmosphere is Restored: The Club Atmosphere is glowing a beautiful, maxed-out green and reads “Excellent”. The boys are enjoying playing together, and the recent form of ‘WLLWW’ (thanks to that Cremonese scare and Lazio win) has washed away the November blues.
- My Job is Safe: More importantly, the Managerial Support bar is back to “Excellent”. The players are, apparently, “delighted” to have me as manager and are willing to support me for the foreseeable future. They have graciously decided to forgive my disastrous attempt at a motivational speech.
- The Leaders are Appeased: Pio Esposito and Rolando Mandragora remain the undisputed Team Leaders at the top of the hierarchy. They orchestrated the on-pitch response against Lazio, and they have successfully brought the rest of the 21-man Core Social Group back into line.
- A Clean Slate: The most beautiful sentence on this entire screen? “There are currently no player issues within the team”.
The crisis is officially averted. The Purple Palace is peaceful once again. The players are happy, the boardroom is quiet, and we are sitting pretty at the top of Serie A.

I am, however, making a solemn vow right here and now: I am permanently removing the “Call Team Meeting” button from my managerial dashboard. From now on, I will communicate with the squad entirely through tactical diagrams, aggressive touchline shouts, and extremely generous training praise. It is much safer for everyone involved.
